Springfield passes budget
The
Springfield School Board passed a budget after shaving down the
increase to 1.98 percent. The newly approved tax rate of 29.300 mills
equates to $4,279 for the median property value of $146,050 in
Springfield and Morton. This is an increase of $83 over the present
year. The board and administration had a “worst-case scenario” in
February of 3.7 percent, but changes were made during and after the
preliminary budget process to bring the increase below 2 percent.
